"Broken History: Plates Edition" is a collection that aims to give new life to long-forgotten antique items, covered in dust, cracks, and wear. These objects, once discarded and deemed defective, are reborn as unique works of art.
The collection merges the seemingly incompatible: embroidery by artist Kathrin Marchenko and antique porcelain, two different worlds brought together to create one-of-a-kind artistic pieces. Using a technique reminiscent of the Japanese art of kintsugi, where cracks are highlighted with gold, I emphasize the significance and value of each imperfection, transforming porcelain dishes with history into expressive works filled with symbolism and emotion.
